Pilot Tests

PulseBack recommends setting up a pilot test for all potential clients.  The purpose of the test is two-fold:

1.) Allow our potential clients to inexpensively "toe the waters" by witnessing firsthand the value of the information they receive and the superior responsiveness of our staff.

2.) To make necessary refinements in store pulsing logistics, questionnaire performance, and information retrieval time for a rollout of PulseBack to additional stores.

Pilot Test Planning & Cost Considerations

PulseBack prides itself on its ability to work hand in hand with our clients to provide programs specifically tailored to their end information goal.  Unlike many market research firms, we also involve our clients in the budget process.  Our desire is a cost-effective process that gathers and reports meaningful information quickly.

The following are a few of the pilot areas where we request client input to help manage costs and customize the program:

Planning Considerations

  • Benchmarks -- what comparisons would you like to make?  What improvement areas do you wish to measure over time?  (Individual unit versus region or all stores, loyal versus new customers, etc.)
  • Frequency -- is this a one time effort, or is it to become a periodic or regularly scheduled program?
  • Questionnaire & Report Integration -- what existing programs exist in order to encourage acceptance and avoid duplication?  Can PulseBack be used in conjunction with other programs to provide an additional level of detail and confidence?
  • Confidentiality  -- who gets what information and in what form?  Would you like your reports posted online with password security to allow instant circulation of your information?

$$$ Cost Considerations

  • High Volume Dayparts -- is there a valid mix of dayparts to determine optimum interviewing costs?
  • Sample Size -- what degree of statistically valid measurement do you prefer (PulseBack's minimum level or higher)?  Is the expense of a larger sample size justified by being more actionable?
  • Standard PulseBack Protocols -- can company personnel sign interviewers in and out to monitor and manage field costs?
  • Information Retrieval Alternatives -- what is the best PulseBack product to gather the necessary information?  On repetitive projects, is it the only approach?
